What You Said âž¡ What We’re Doing
"There's nowhere for young people to go."
South Kilburn Trust is working with local youth providers to ensure services for young people reflect their needs and that spaces make them feel safe and supported.
"Outdoor spaces feel unsafe or neglected."
We are working with partners to prioritise park maintenance and better lighting. In 2025 we supported the improvement of 4 playgrounds in the area.
"Job applications feel impersonal."
Our weekly employment service provides holistic career and job finding support. We are also developing a 'Mentorship & Networking' model to ensure young people have access to a range of opportunities.

Community Plan
Launch of an actionable South Kilburn Community Plan.
SKT aims to better understand resident experiences so that we can work to improve local services and opportunities.
In order to do this, we have been carrying out door-to-door surveys throughout South Kilburn.
Our goal is to understand what’s most important to people living in South Kilburn so we can work collaboratively with the community and local partners, making South Kilburn a better place to live now and in the future.

About Community Conversations

Why are we doing this?
We want to ensure that South Kilburn residents are heard and supported and that local action reflects the community's needs. To do this, we need to know more about what you have to say about life in South Kilburn. After all, residents are the experts on South Kilburn!
How is it done?
SKT engaged a group of local residents in a survey workshop to design the community conversations survey, ensuring it would appropriately capture the lived experience of people living in South Kilburn

We have been working with a team of local volunteers to engage in these doorstep conversations with the community. Click here to see available roles - we are always looking to add more people to the team!

For residents who missed us at the door, an online survey was made available in English, Arabic, Portuguese, Somali and Tigrinya.

What comes next?
After we've completed our door-knocking, SKT will be following up with people interested in speaking in greater detail about their ideas for solutions via themed focus groups.

The findings gathered from surveys and focus groups will all contribute to a South Kilburn action plan developed and delivered in partnership with residents and local partners.
